The all-new Empire Alpaca Trifecta will combine the traditional high-quality halter show you have come to expect from the Extravaganza, an expanded Fleece Show and Fiber Event, and world-class educational opportunities. Judges for this huge event will include Amanda VandenBosch, Helen Humphreys, Wade Gease & Polly Michaelis. Check-in will be on Friday October 12th for Vendors and Exhibitors of the animals and fleeces, with the halter show on Saturday and Sunday, the 13th & 14th, the fleece show on Saturday the 13th and educational seminars and Fiber Events will be taking place all weekend. The complete weekend schedule will be posted shortly.

Halter- Traditional halter show with challenging competition, performance classes for the young and young at heart. News flash, new at the Extravaganza in 2012 a new class called The Class Reunion. The Class Reunion is an exciting new concept that will evolve into a money making opportunity in the next couple of years. We wanted to reward all those folks that have donated breedings to our herdsire auctions over the years or equally as important is rewarding those farms that have purchased those same breedings. We are starting off the process by inviting farms that have bought breedings at any of our herdsire auctions to compete in a class together against each other. So if you have a yearling or 2 years and older alpaca that is a result of an Extravaganza or Symposium purchased breeding then make sure you bring it to the show because we will have some pretty awesome trophies for the winners. We are excited to offer these rewarding show opportunities for breeders and owners of farms both large and small, newbies as well as established farms.

Herdsire Auction- WThe herdsire auction this year will be incredible! Get ready to bid on some top-name males. The progeny of this auction will be eligible in the future to compete for some huge cash prizes!

Education- World-class seminars for owners, breeders, veterinarians, and the general public. Hands-on as well as classroom style seminars.

Fiber- The Empire Alpaca Fiber Event, traditionally offered in February, will be a part of the 2012 Trifecta. This will include a complete fleece show, spin-off, and fiber arts competition. In addition, we will be combining forces with the Green Mountain Alpaca Fall Spectacular so you can enter your fleeces at the Empire Fleece Event and we will make sure they get up to the Green Mountain Fleece Show for judging there and then the Green Mountain folks will mail the fleece back home to you. This way you only have to pay for one fleece shipping fee but you will get two shows and maybe if you are lucky 2 ribbons. What an opportunity!

North American Alpaca Fiber Showcase- Luxurious Alpaca Fiber in all of its uses will be showcased for both breeders and public. We are inviting anyone and everyone who uses alpaca fiber to display their products in our all-new Alpaca Fiber Showcase. This includes traditional clothing, rugs, etc. as well as some new and innovative products. Come and find exciting new ways to utilize every bit of your fiber! Our "Vendor Village is expanding, too, with lots of new and exciting vendors. We will also offer several fiber pick-up points so that you can sell your fiber or send it to mills and co-ops without paying shipping costs.

Written Judge Evaluations- Ever wondered what the judge's really think about your alpacas? Well at this year's show we will give you that opportunity and even in a written format. On Sunday afternoon we will give you a chance to spend a few minutes with the judge who will pour over your alpaca and give you a written and verbal critique of their opinion. Pretty exciting stuff and the proceeds will benefit your Empire Alpaca Association. EAA members will receive one complimentary FREE evaluation!
